Thank Goodness For Youth Baseball Coaches

Hey! Need to get my kids to baseball practice. Man, this is the second time this week and we got a game this weekend? What a pain in the butt? I gotta drop 'em off now ... then pick 'em up later!

What are we thinking?

As parents, we tend to take the youth baseball coaches for granted and our feelings for them seem to be shaped in relation to our kid's position in the batting order. I bet some of us assume that coaches are included in the signup fee each year - that they get paid to do it. This is far from he truth!

Youth baseball coaches are volunteers and they do it because they want to make a mark on society . What better way to make things better than to teach our kids about respect, sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork.

By the way, youth baseball coaches get their reward seeing the smile on a child's face when they get their first hit; when they catch a fly ball and when they are just happy to be part of the team.

So, next time you think of the baseball coach be thankful - your kids are in good hands.
